In a commendable act of social responsibility, two major educational institutions in Bhaktapur have contributed significant financial aid to support families affected by the Bhote Kosi floods. These donations were directed to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to facilitate ongoing relief and long-term rehabilitation efforts for the displaced communities.

Nepal Engineering College (NEC) provided a total of NPR 1,002,643 towards the cause. The institution’s Principal, Durga Prasad Bhandari, handed over the contribution directly to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. This financial support highlights the academic sector’s role in assisting the government during environmental crises and humanitarian emergencies.

Joining the relief efforts, Genuine English School from Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur, also stepped up with a donation of NPR 1,000,000. Representing the school, the management coordinated the hand-over through Bhaktapur’s Chief District Officer, Binod Kumar Khadka. These collective contributions from the local education sector serve as a vital resource for the state as it works to rebuild lives and infrastructure in the flood-hit regions.
