Residents of Baglung and the surrounding regions can now access a wider range of medical expertise as Dhaulagiri Provincial Hospital officially resumes four of its specialized departments. Following a period of closure caused by a shortage of qualified medical professionals, the hospital has successfully restaffed its Psychiatry, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), Dermatology, and Pathology units. These services have been back in regular operation for approximately one month, providing much-needed relief to the local community.

The restoration of these departments addresses a significant gap in local healthcare. According to Shri Prasad Sharma, Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee, the Psychiatry department had been inactive for a full year, while the Dermatology and Venereology unit had been closed for ten months. Additionally, both the ENT and Pathology departments had faced service interruptions lasting five months. The absence of these specialists previously forced patients to seek treatment elsewhere, often requiring long and costly journeys.

By securing the necessary specialist doctors, Dhaulagiri Provincial Hospital is once again able to offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. This move is expected to significantly improve patient outcomes and streamline the delivery of healthcare in the province. The hospital administration remains committed to maintaining these essential services to ensure that residents have consistent access to specialized medical care close to home.
