The Bajura District Court has concluded the legal proceedings regarding the murder of Chetan Deep Ayadi, a student leader affiliated with the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), by sentencing six individuals to life imprisonment. District Judge Tara Prasad Dangi delivered the long-awaited verdict, bringing a significant chapter of this high-profile case to a close after years of judicial scrutiny.

The court identified Sher Bahadur Ayadi, Sagar Ayadi, and Lokesh, along with three other accomplices, as the primary perpetrators behind the fatal assault. The incident, which occurred amidst a climate of political unrest, resulted in the untimely death of the young leader and sparked widespread calls for accountability across the country. The bench’s decision follows an exhaustive review of the evidence and testimonies presented during the trial.

This landmark ruling is viewed as a victory for the rule of law, reinforcing the judiciary’s commitment to penalizing violent crimes regardless of political affiliations. For the family of Chetan Ayadi and his supporters, the sentencing provides a measure of justice after a painful wait. The six convicted individuals will now serve their life sentences as mandated by the district court’s final order.
